The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Company is one of the largest theatrical production companies in America. The company specializes in showcasing interactive murder mysteries for dinner theatre entertainment for the general public and for private parties. The company started its operations in 2004 with the founders Scott and Kelly O’Brein in Culver City.
They acquire actors from multiple improvisational theatre schools in the country such as, Upright Citizens Brigade, Improv Olympic, The Second City and many others. The trained actors perform original scripts involving great audience interaction along with four-course sit down dinner.
The Dinner Detective Team Requires Paid Comic Actors – Are You the One?
The Dinner Detective is all about modern and interactive comedy. So, in order to unlock your true potential, audition for a role in this one-of-a-kind theatre. This is a paid position and the selected actors will get tips and training for interactive comedy in addition to the base pay.
However, comedic actors are not permitted to use campy (extreme amusing approach creating a perverse impact) dialogues. This is an improv base show available for comedic actors living anywhere in the US Follow the details below for more information.

Things to Consider for Interactive Comedic Actors
There are certain important requirements that you should meet to qualify for the role:

The timings include 4 to 6 hours along with a pre-show rehearsal.

No requirement for weekly rehearsals. You will be rehearsed immediately before the show when you would be scheduled for work.

Roles will be scheduled on a one-month basis.

Roles will vary depending upon the availability of the comedic actors.
Character Requirements
The Dinner Detective team is seeking for comedic actors, performers and improvisers who are confident and can comfortably interact with the audience for semi-scripts. Those actors are required who can adapt themselves and blend in with the audience because of modern environmental approach.
Additionally, they are also looking for multi-talented hosts who can manage the props, deliver amazing speeches and run the show seamlessly.
Procedure for Submission
For smooth auditions, they have scheduled half hour slots for 2, 2:30, 3, 3:30. You will not require bringing anything else with you because the auditions will be more practical, playing improv games and talking as a group.
What If You Can’t Make it to the Auditions?
If you can’t make it to the audition, then you don’t need to worry. You can send them an email and inform them about your unavailability. They will schedule an alternate audition on a later date and time, according to your convenience.
