The story centers on a woman played by Hilary Swank and her husband played by Michael Shannon. They must fly back to her hometown when her Alzheimer’s-stricken mother wanders into a blizzard and loses her way. The return home forces her to confront her past and deal with the things she ran from. In a way, the premise of this film is similar to the 2016 Oscar winning movie, Manchester by the Sea. In that movie, Casey Affleck must return to his hometown to deal with family issues and along the way has to face the demons that he ran from.
Michael Shannon is an American actor that made his film debut in the 1993 comedy Groundhog Day. He then received plenty of recognition for his performance in 8 Mile as the boyfriend of Eminem’s mother. He has been in the industry since 1992, creating plenty of amazing characters through his unique style of acting. While many of his films have been under the radar, he has played General Zod in the Superman franchise. Hilary Swank is an American actress and producer that has won two Academy Awards in her career. Her biggest award came in 1999 when she won the Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of Brandon Teena in the independent film Boys Don’t Cry.
