New Show Featuring Common Casting in Chicago

Showtime’s The Chi is now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming in Chicago, Illinois. Casting directors are looking for extras for to work on scenes filming April 17th and April 22nd. Producers are seeking talents to play high school basketball coaches, morgue techs, and funeral attendees.

Lonnie Rashid Lynn, better known as Common, is an American rapper, actor, film producer and poet from Chicago.  He started his career in 1992 when his debut album called Can I Borrow a Dollar? was released. Since then, he has shifted into both the acting and modeling industry by producing and acting in several different projects on major networks.  He is widely known as a very talented actor along with an old school classic hip hop artist.

The Chi is a coming-of-age story that revolves around a group of people living on the South Side of Chicago. The series is written by Lena Waithe, known for her work in Bones and Master of None.  The producer of the show is the famous rapper/actor Common.  One of the main stars in the show will be Jason Mitchell from the hit movie Straight Outta Compton.  In The Chi, Mitchell plays a young man with dreams of opening a restaurant in the South Side of Chicago.  Although he is very motivated to follow his dreams, he is held back by a rough family life in a neighborhood riddled with crime and poverty.
