TNT has joined the reality game show territory with their new show The Great Escape. With major Hollywood names Ron Howard and Brian Grazer producing alongside Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri who produced The Amazing Race the Great Escape has proven that its a game show here to stay and this is your chance to be a contestant. The show hosted by Rich Eisen features three two-person teams each week who are left into some crazy places and they must compete to escape in order to win a cash prize at the end. The casting directors are now looking for couples and freinds who are willing to do crazy stuff in order to win The Great Escape. Each episode is a single competition among three teams of two contestants with a previous relationship, such as family relations, lifelong friends, or married or dating couples.T he teams are escorted while blindfolded to an undisclosed location, which varies with each episode. They are locked in cells with the game’s “Detainment Zone” that include a concealed map and the means to release themselves from their cell. When the game starts, teams must find the map, free themselves, and follow the instructions on the map to the first of four stages. Each stage includes a physical or mental challenge the teams must complete that gives them directions to the next stage, a part of a larger “Escape Key”, and other miscellaneous tools such as flashlights, which are used as part of the next Stage or for their transport.
The first team to successfully escape is awarded the $100,000 prize. The directors at TNT are now looking for couples and friends over 21 to be contestants on the hit game show. This is based on our never ending willingness to place ourselves in crazy situations, which on occasion, have been done on purpose. However, most of the time it happens out of sheer luck.
